About

Energy security means maintaining a resilient, diverse energy supply for today and tomorrow. Tariffs. Elbows-Up. One Canada. Canada has the resources, but leading the way takes more than what’s underground. It takes geoscientists.

This two-day symposium showcases how geoscientists drive energy security through innovative reservoir characterization, with presentations on proven and emerging subsurface techniques shaping Canada’s energy future.

The Reservoir Symposium, hosted biennially in Calgary by the Canadian Energy Geoscience Association, focuses on the core theme of Reservoir Characterization. Designed to engage a broad audience, the event highlights practical, impactful work that advances our understanding and development of subsurface reservoirs.

Since 1927, the Canadian Energy Geoscience Association (CEGA), formerly known as the CSPG, has been a member-based association committed to fostering geoscientists’ professional development throughout their careers. The primary mission of the Association is to advance the professions of the energy geosciences – as it applies to geology; foster the scientific, technical learning and professional development of its members; and promote the awareness of the profession to industry and the public.
